Founded in 2009, Homegrown Partners operates ten Homegrown Sustainable Sandwich Shops in the Pacific Northwest. But each store is more than just a sandwich shop. Homegrown’s goal is not only to create sandwiches out of sustainable ingredients but also to make sandwich creation sustainable itself. They consider their environmental impact for every ingredient choice, often between two competing theories: eating organic and eating local. They take the best from both worlds to create their sustainable sandwiches, salads and soups. They like to call this sandwich environmentalism.
